1950's Fashion: Era of Class

Dorothy Dandridge
I have always been obsessed with 1950's fashion. If there is any era of fashion that compliments a woman's curves but also expresses a woman's level of respect for herself it is the 1950's. Proving the point that you can be sexy and classy at the same time.

In this fashion decade, the "Ready to Wear" industry and the bikini was born.Women wore feminine, charming clothes with bows, flounces and frills. Young ladies donned trousers which ranged from ankle length to just below the knee and Rockers and Beatniks expressed their dissatisfaction with the status quo by wearing jeans and leather jackets.

CoCo Chanel was most known for her infamous design called "The Suit". Jane Kennedy was the first to wear the design. The Chanel suit was the most copied design in the 1950's.
